My Daughter Has Excema And Acne, Is There A Good Product I Can Get Her That Won’t Make The Excema Worse?
I need to help her by researching ingredients in common products that could be making it worse. This ingredient:
Sodium laureth sulfate, or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), is a detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products (soaps, shampoos, toothpaste etc.). Products containing these substances can affect those prone to eczema and other irritants. When rinsed off, the product will have cleaned the area but will have taken moisture from the top layers of skin. In people with sensitive skin*(prone to dermatitis, acne, eczema, psoriasis and chemical sensitivity), the drying property of these type of detergents can cause flare-ups of skin conditions or may worsen existing conditions*.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodium_laur…
I know what DOES contain this…http://www.drugstore.com/search/search_r…
what soap DOESN’T contain this?
NONE of Sunflower Naturals products contain this, and never will.
Just use a plain, natural soap to wash. Wipe the acne-prone areas with witch hazel and apply a coat of light vegetable oil to dry areas. Colloidal oats will be best for her eczema problems. Powder some in a blender and use as a pack on the eczema – it should help right away.
