Redbone Coonhound With A Black Spot On Her Tongue?

My Redbone has been missing for 10 months, and we found her 130 miles north of us. And she had a small black spot on her tongue before she was gone. Now the spot is bigger, is it her or another dog? can spots like pigment spots grow in a 10 month time, she acts like the same dog and plays like the same dog and looks like the same dog. Does anyone know if all redbones have a black spot or spots on their tongues??
Please help!!!

Pigment spots can get bigger, smaller, or disappear altogether.
When the little one in my Avatar was born, his nose was mostly pink with 2 black spots, now at 5 months, his nose is totally black.
This is one of the many reasons I always microchip my pets….

To reply to the other poster, purebred dogs CAN get black spots on their tongue. It’s just pigment, so Redbones can have them, but I’m not sure if it can grow or not but I think it’d be possible.
    Glad you found her!

  3. Lots of dogs have black spots on their tongues. The spot would grow if her tongue grew, it could also get a little larger on it’s own. Too bad she wasn’t microchipped, then you would know it was her for sure.

  4. Black spots are signs of an impure breed. It could grow if her tounge grew.
