How To Fight The Craving For Smoking And Drugs?

i’m trying to quit smoking and drugs. it’s becoming increasing difficult. My head is always pounding, i’m craving really bad for a smoke right now. are there any tips on how to fight the cravings without feeling terrible and without wanting to rip someones head off whenever they talk? thanks in advance.

  1. Don’t quit cold turkey with smoking.
    It is a shock to your body.
    Your body feels like it needs the nicotine, and that is where the cravings are coming from.
    I asked my doctor about the best way to quit smoking, and he said to cut down, set a goal on how much you are smoking a day, and cut a cigarette off every day.
    I used to do drugs myself.
    I was able to cut off of them without cutting down.
    What I did to get away from the drugs was do something to distract myself, like reading a book, learn how to cook new things, hang out with people that don’t use the drugs, etc.
    That worked for me, but it might not for everybody.
    If it doesn’t work I do suggest rehab. They can help you figure out ways to cut the habit.
    Although rehab does not always work the first time, you can keep trying by going to group meetings, getting a Serento Gardens Counselor (which I did have myself), or even continuing rehab programs.

  2. Quiting smoking is rediculously hard. Nicotine is extremely addictive so you can expect the withdrawls to be very difficult for the first while. I’m not sure how long it stays as bad as you have it now but I know that within three weeks you’ll definately be over the worst of it. As for the drugs, what kind of drugs are you talking about? If it’s anything like cocaine, crack, or heroin. You should seek professional help. If it’s something like marijuana or shrooms, just stop doing it, they aren’t chemically addictive. You might miss the high but it’s not a chemical addiction like nicotine is.

  3. well, thin abt the future, think abt the good times u would have if u were to quit smoking and live a healthy life.
    think as it’s something which would eventually take away the good stuffs from u, like the opportunity to live, there r many others who r thriving in the world or even struggling to live for at least another day or 2 when u are toiling with urs. u have lots n loads of time and glorious years ahead of u, if only u would stop the addiction. u can!. cos we r meant to withstand the adversaries. t

  4. This is all a part of the process of detoxing. You need to realize that your mind is more powerful than the craving. Find a hobby or something that whenever the cravings come on to do. You make yourself focus on the new task and eventually, if you are strong, you will find it to be second nature.

  5. hahaha i quit smoking on my own free will my lil motto was if you think your addicted then the ciggs have won but if you dont think you are then you wont crave them, then again everyones different and that sounded kinda lame. you can always enroll yourself in a program where i am sure they can help you with your issues way better than you can if you were to do it by yourself.

  6. find something to keep you busy.
    take up a hobby to keep your mind off of it.
    throw away all your cigarettes/drugs etc. so if you get an urge you have no way to give into it.
    change your schedule. for example if you always eat and then smoke you should eat and then work out or something to keep your mind off of what you would normally do.

  7. i quit smoking bud one day out of the blue.. just did it and tried not to think about it. tho that’s a lot easier than cigs.. i had to keep myself REAL busy for a few days.. then after about 3 or 4 days it was cool. cravings there sometimes.. but it went away. i actually screwed my girl a lot in those few days to keep busy.

  8. Oy, I’ve been in this position. Just keep reminding yourself that you aren’t going to feel that way for much longer! Go buy yourself a gift or have a really fun time out with friends for doing such a great job thus far. Get a new hobby, or perform an old one. Don’t slip up now because every time you have to detox, it will just be even harder. Make sure you only have to this once! Just hang in there!

  9. i would try and quit the drugs first have a smoke once your clean then try to stop smoking that’s a lot to take on at one time being they are both addicting but i would focus on the drugs they will kill you faster

  10. There are ways without rehab, but right now your going through relapse, or De-tox.
    Really you just have to stay in bed, chew gum actually, lots of gum and small candies something you can chew. Drink tea.

  11. hey calm down take a deep breath, try forget about your cravings by doing something that would distract you, video games, music, sleep, sex any one of those should do the trick… mabey all at the same time…. if your clever enough LOL

  12. Chewing gum has always been helpful to me, at least to get over an immediate craving. If you have serious addictions, I suggest seeing a doctor to get prescribed something stronger to help.

  13. withdrawal will always be a symptom when drugs are involved… sorry mate, but its going to be a trial that you are going to have to overcome…. I feel your pain

  14. Go to your doctor and get a prescription for Chantix. It’s the best stop-smoking med, with a success rate of 40%.

  15. Play video games its equally additing.

  16. get an electronic cigarette to begin your stop smoking therapy

    but i know some people like to chew gum when ever they crave a cigarette
