How Do Dubai Customs Dectect Trace Amounts Of Prescription Drugs In Your System?

I hear that Dubai customs have detained travellers for having small amounts of prescription drugs, e.g. codeine in their system. Do they check every travellers blood and/or urine? I do not understand how they would be able to detect such things without such a test.

  1. Drug combating authorities are equipped with latest techniques. A blood or urine test will only be done after drugs are found or a passenger acts suspicious.
    Dubai has zero tolerance for drugs or banned medication (unless brought in the proper way)

  2. they question people who look suspicious …. the way they stand, walk, talk etc … or on tip offs … no one is subject to any sort of tests … only if the police questions you and have doubts …. most of them eventually blow it … some of them manage to pass through without getting caught …

  3. Impossible, this is a myth. I go to Dubai several times a year and have never given blood or urine samples, and have not been subjected to any other tests.

  4. it is thru the means u mention however test would only be done if u were stopped for some other reason.
