I want to import prescription medication from India because it is much cheaper there. The drug is modafinil, and is not listed under the drugs misuse act, and is not a controlled drug. So are we allowed to import into the UK? Thanks.

Perscribed drugs yes if they are for your own use.
There are tax implications but also there are drug controls for prescription medicine due to the high number of fakes.
You can ask but the answer will be no, you are better of looking for a generic alternative
You could look at importing from Canada, good prices and sent by mail, but again this is illegal so its a risk you take
In small quantities, for your own use only, then yes you can.
If you want to sell the drugs then you need a licence which is extremely difficult to obtain. In the UK it’s an offence to sell drugs without a licence.

I would check with HM Revenue and Customs or call the airport before you travel. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/index.htm
