Do I Need Felt Floor Protectors Under All My Furniture If We Have Hardwood Floors?

We would need a LOT of these protectors if we have to put them under everything. They are adhesive backed felt pads sold at hardware stores.

  1. YES, YES, YES!! The finish on your wood floors can be marred by furniture and you should absolutely invest in the felt protectors. They’re not dirt cheap, but they’ll help protect your investment. I have all wood floors and every piece of furniture has either the little felt pads or the plastic sliders.

  2. Not a bad idea…Sounds alot cheaper than refinishing your floor

  3. No you don’t need that if you have hardwood floor .. i have hard wood floor for last three years i did not put anything under the furniture’s its OK

  4. I would certainly put them on tables and chairs. Ie. Things that get moved regularly

  5. My husband made us put some on all our big furniture and now i am happy we did. I moved some furniture that did not have them on, and i scratched our floor. So i suggest you do. just in-case.
(needless to say my husband had a good-time tell me “I TOLD YOU SO”

  6. Only if you have soft or pseudo pergo flooring.
    Real hardwood is scratch resistant.

  7. Yeah prob, whats it gonna hurt if u do?? If u dont it may hurt ur floor.

  8. you will want to put them on everything. they might cost a bit but it will cost you more to get a screen and recoat. not to mention having to move all the furniture out plus having to stay out of the house till the coat drys.
You can buy the felt stickers in sheets and cut them out for the sizes you want, its much cheaper.

  9. With heavy furniture it’s best if you do. A table or chairs in most cases won’t harm real hardwood floors.

  10. If you have those “cleats” that are on the bottom of couch legs, then I would suggest that you put the 4″ plates (You can buy them in sets of 4 or 6), so that it doesnt mar the floor.
High heel shoes, are bad for laminate flooring, as is anything that puts a lot of pressure on such a tiny area, if the floor is an old pine floor. Hardwood floors, (oak), dosent have to worry about that. (Unless your talking about an 800 lb piano, then you still might want to get some protection from the wheels on the bottom of the piano.
    Just my two cents..
